Pays de Gex comprises 27 communes (municipalities) and a population of over 80,000. It is located in the Franco-Valdo-Geneva cross-border urban area known as "Greater Geneva" which encompasses almost 920,000 inhabitants, 400,000 jobs and 40,000 businesses. It is the second largest conurbation in Switzerland as well as in the Rhône-Alpes region.

Located on the right bank of lake Geneva, Pays de Gex takes advantage of the presence of Geneva’s core infrastructure: Geneva International Airport (13 million passengers in 2012), the CERN (one of the biggest fundamental research laboratories in the world – 2,300 permanent staff, 980 contractors and 10,000 researchers), PALEXPO (congress and exhibition centre – 1.3 million visitors), as well as Geneva’s international district (40,000 international diplomats and officials and 250 NGOs).

The real lungs of this conurbation, Pays de Gex offers an exceptional quality of life and environment within a major urban area. The region offers a wide range of sporting activities (ski resort, sports infrastructure, water sports, golf courses, etc.) and cultural events.

Take advantage of the expertise of an international, cosmopolitan region, characterised by its beautiful natural landscapes and economic opportunities.
